Hardwood Refinishing

Under that gray, scratched surface is the floor you fell for. Sanding and refinishing brings it back - for a third of replacement cost.

The refinishing process

  1. Assessment. We check wear depth, repairs needed and what your boards can take - most floors have several sandings left in them.
  2. Repairs. Damaged boards replaced and lace-woven in, gaps and squeaks addressed.
  3. Sanding. Multiple passes to fresh wood with dust-containment equipment - not the powder-storm of the old days.
  4. Color. Stain samples on YOUR floor, in your light, before we commit.
  5. Finish. Durable waterborne or oil-based polyurethane, two to three coats.

What refinishing can and can't fix

Scratches, graying, sun fade, most stains and dullness - gone completely. Deep pet stains and water damage sometimes sand out and sometimes need board replacement, which we weave in so the repair disappears. Big gaps and severe cupping deserve honest triage - and you'll get it before we quote.

Modern waterborne finishes cure fast and low-odor: furniture back in days, not weeks.

Common questions

How dusty is it really?

Modern vacuum-contained sanders capture the overwhelming majority of dust. Wipe-down, not shovel-out - and we mask doorways anyway.

How long before we can walk on it?

Socks next day, furniture in 2-4 days, rugs after full cure. We leave you a simple timeline sheet.

Can you change the color?

Dramatically - dark to natural, natural to espresso. Stain sampling on your actual boards is part of every job.

The best floor in the store is under your feet.
